Biography
Paladie is a Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Champion with a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management with a concentration in Global Perspectives. Paladie is a T1D lived experience since 2010 and a Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) advocate. Paladie's lived experience inspired her to advocate for other people living with Type 1 Diabetes and other NCDs and speak for the ones that are not able to speak for themselves. She is motivated by the fact that being an example to other people living with T1D would empower them, and the power of using her story to make a change.
Paladie has been volunteering with the Rwanda NCD Alliance on projects around NCDs advocacy and she is a young leader at the Rwanda Diabetes Association. Paladie is a voice Alumni of NCDI Poverty Network Fellowship. Throughout the fellowship, she worked across disease-specific (T1D) issues and co-developed and implemented an advocacy project.
She is also a young leader in Diabetes (YLD), a program of International Diabetes Federation which aims at creating a voice for young people with Diabetes. It also provides them with education to empower them and help them become efficient advocates.
